What is BodyTalk ?

In Bodytalk, we are working to re-establish communication between our mind, body, and emotions, it’s a form of mind-body medicine that allows the body to heal itself. Your body is designed to heal itself. When all parts and systems of the body communicate with each other, healing happens naturally. However, stress can cause communication breakdowns, resulting in discomfort and disease. We all experience stress in the mind, body, or spirit. It's the number one cause of disease in the world because it causes the natural communication lines in the body to break down. When the body forgets how to communicate with itself, symptoms occur. 

The session is all about uncovering the stories that your body is holding on to,  things like past experiences, stress, trauma, or even belief systems. These things are causing imbalances in our bodies. BodyTalk identifies these breakdowns and uses a light tapping technique to restore communication, helping the body to heal itself. 

BodyTalk takes into consideration your whole story. Your life-style, genetics and history are all drawn upon to establish a personalized approach to Healthcare that brings about lasting changes.

How does a BodyTalk session work? 

A BodyTalk session will last about an hour. On your first visit you will be asked to complete a short history form which includes information about your physical, mental, and emotional well being.   There will be some time to talk about your answers and to get to know me and ask any questions that you may have about BodyTalk.  Our sessions are completely confidential.

In a BodyTalk session, you will lay comfortably on a massage table fully clothed. I will silently ask questions of your body using bio muscular feedback by lightly touching your arm. Listening to your responses to find out which areas are a priority to address, and release those stories your body was holding onto.  After the information is gathered I will set the formulas for healing by gently tapping over your head, heart and gut. This tapping technique is used to help the brain balance and restore communication within the body. We include breathing, and a holding of acupressure points.

BodyTalk is cumulative.  Each session can build on the last.  

Once the body has been reminded of the issue, it can initiate its healing processes. Your body knows how to heal itself. It just needs to remember how. 

My story with Bodytalk

I started seeing a Bodytalk practitioner because I wanted to deepen my connection to my body, to learn to listen to my body in a new way. I hoped to continue healing and deepening self-understanding, not through words or more talking, but instead starting with listening to my body’s priorities. As

I’ve had so many breakthroughs, so many aha moments, where I learned something about myself through the wisdom of my body. Connecting memories I’d long forgotten to the issues and suffering I was grappling with in the moment. Listening and offering space for big emotions like grief, fear, and anger to surface and be felt, and shifted. Making connections between physical health concerns and the mental and emotional stress I have endured. Healing generational trauma, easing my nervous system, and finding balance in my body again. It has been revolutionary in guiding me back to trusting my intuition, and my body’s innate knowing.

A BodyTalk appointment can take place in the comfort of your home if you should find yourself unable to attend in person sessions.  A distance treatment takes about an hour.  We will connect over phone or virtually through Google Meets or Zoom
