Reconnecting With Your Intuition Through Body-Based Practices

Part 5 of a 5-Part Series: Connecting With Your Intuition

Your body is always communicating with you.
It signals, whispers, tightens, opens, contracts, and softens in ways that often tell the truth long before your mind can make sense of it.

In this final post of the series, we’re exploring how intuitive clarity becomes possible when we bring the body, and the mind back into conversation with one another. This is where real empowerment begins.

Why Body-Based Practices Matter

We can’t mentally think our way out of self-sabotage. We can’t logic our way into deep self-trust.
We need the body.

Because the body stores:

  • old beliefs

  • emotional patterns

  • survival strategies

  • inherited fears

  • intuitive truth

When we slow down and listen, these practices help us uncover what’s been running the show under the surface.

BodyTalk: Listening to the Body’s Truth

In BodyTalk, we follow the body’s own priorities—letting it guide us toward the beliefs, memories, or emotional charges that need attention.

For me, this work illuminated a pattern I shared in Part 3 & 4:
My procrastination wasn’t laziness. It was fear. A deeper belief that “things will never fully come to life for me.”

Sitting with that in my own BodyTalk session softened something enormous.
The fear wasn’t the truth. It was a protective attempt to keep me from disappointment.

BodyTalk continues to help me release what I’ve outgrown and return to alignment with what I’m here to do.

Enneagram: A Lens for Patterns, Archetypes & Intuition

The Enneagram helps us see the architecture of our inner world:

  • the patterns that keep us stuck

  • the instincts that shape our reactions

  • the childhood strategies we’ve mistaken for personality

  • the shadows we avoid and the strengths we forget

Through it, we learn why we sabotage—and where intuition naturally wants to lead us.

It gives language to the ways fear, avoidance, or people-pleasing show up in our daily lives.

Spiritual Direction: Integrating Mind, Body, and Heart

Spiritual Direction offers a slow, grounded, reflective space where the sacredness of everyday life can actually be felt. In Spiritual Direction sessions, we explore:

  • what feels meaningful or resonant

  • what’s stirring beneath the surface

  • how your thoughts, emotions, and somatic signals interact

  • where intuitive knowing is trying to guide you

  • how to reconnect with your inner authority

Together, we explore the subtle intersections between thoughts, emotions, and intuitive knowing—the places where your inner truth rises to the surface.

It’s a practice of coming home to your own authority, reconnecting with the deeper wisdom that’s already speaking within you.

Where Self-Sabotage & Self-Esteem Meet the Body

All the practices above help illuminate the deeper truth:
Self-sabotage isn’t about weakness. It’s about fear, protection, and power. Every procrastination, every hesitation, every voice of “I can’t” is a power dynamic.

We sabotage ourselves for many reasons—fear of failure, fear of success, fear of disappointing others, fear of becoming more powerful than what feels familiar.

And sometimes, sabotage looks like self-betrayal:

  • saying what others want to hear

  • hiding how we truly feel

  • giving answers that keep the peace instead of honouring yourself

  • staying small to avoid consequences

  • choosing relationships over self-truth

  • avoiding participation because stepping in requires agency

When we betray ourselves to keep comfort, approval, or harmony, the saboteur takes the wheel.
But the body always remembers—and eventually, resentment, frustration, or self-loathing begins to surface.

Empowerment begins when we can pause and ask:
“What is this disruption inviting me to see?”

Empowerment Through Awareness: Transforming Self-Sabotage

Every moment of disruption is a doorway back to yourself. When you face your saboteur and say:
“I see you. And I’m choosing differently.”
—that is where self-esteem grows.

Each time you act in alignment with your truth, even in tiny ways, you reclaim power and self-respect.

Some places to start:

Practical Empowerment Tips

Notice micro-dynamics.
Could you speak more truthfully? Or more kindly? Where are you withholding empowerment—from yourself or others?

Pay attention to blame.
Are you placing power outside yourself—on others, the universe, your past—to avoid feeling the deeper fear?

Tell the truth sooner.
Avoiding truth in relationships, work, or daily choices leads to resentment. Truth restores integrity.

Return to the body.
Your body will tell you everything if you give it space.

This is the lifelong path of empowerment—moment by moment, choice by choice, truth by truth.

Reflective Prompt

Choose one area of your life where your body has been signaling something important.
Sit with it. Notice the sensations. Ask:

  • What is my body trying to tell me?

  • What fear, pattern, or belief might be underneath?

  • What would empowerment look like here?

  • What tiny action can I take today?

Thank you for joining me through this 5-week series. It’s been an honour to walk with you— tending the inner life, one small moment at a time. I’m grateful you're here, and I look forward to continuing the journey with you.
